What is the criteria for a job?

URDC repairs are limited in scope to those no more than $5,000. Financial assistance is generally no more than $2,500. As part of URDC assistance, it is expected that the homeowner will help pay for some portion of the repair, although exceptions can be made in certain cases. The exact level of financial support varies based on the situation of the homeowner.

Can I refer myself?

Yes, homeowners can refer themselves.

How long does it take to get started?

Once a request is submitted for URDC assistance, a member of the URDC staff will contact the homeowner to schedule an appointment to assess the repairs and create a cost estimate. Based on the scope of work, URDC will discuss with the homeowner if URDC can help and assistance options available. Generally, this process can take from one to three months depending on the repairs and level of assistance. URDC cannot provide assistance for homes that are in severe disrepair.
